In these times, visiting a museum, even through the internet,
can be something, if not liberating, at least something that frees us
of the pain that many of us feel for the loss of family and friends.

Take the case of the Rodin Museum, in France, accessible through:

And see, with attention, the work "The Cathedral"
carved in 1908, by August Rodin (1840-1917).

There is in this work a touch between hands, which seems to touch us, as it is so suggestive and
intimate. However, we can mention that this only happens for certain people,
but yes, it was the case of the feeling of the author of this blog. One is tempted to say that the abiotic material
they are made of, that is, the marble, gains temperature, the heat of our body and, for a moment, the stone "lives".

If someone threw food at this work, as a form of environmental protest, we can finally think that the possibility
of damage would be minimal. But, would it be correct?
No. To run the risk, even if very small, of harming someone else's work, and especially when that someone has
dedicated himself with such delicate care, will be like an attack on humanity. And these are two right hands, that is, hands of different human beings, and the work "celebrates" their meeting.
Today they could celebrate post-peak pandemic reunions and peace.

Future generations may not even appreciate this "cathedral", but we do.
