A poem "Concrete Paradises"

talesforlove

 Concrete Paradises, by Eliza Segiet

She wondered

how many children

were hiding behind the trees

in the orchard?

How many chicks have hatched

in the garden?

What’s left?

The birds flew away,

the children left with their grandchildren.

Even the cherry tree that always bloomed

begins to die back.

She understood that

everything in life has its course.

Some fight for nature,

others just pretend to do it.

There are also those

who love concrete paradises

- they do not let nature live.

For them, to have

– is more than to be.

Translated by Artur Komoter

Wildfires in California

talesforlove

There is a horrible situation in California that we can not remain indifferent to ... Maybe we can donate something and for this it is important to read this publication:

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/11/11/reader-center/california-fires-how-to-help.html

Meanwhile we expect better news and we remember our literary contest of poetry and short stories related to nature and its preservation!
